IT Director Position

IT Director

This role is responsible and accountable for the organization-wide implementation and maintenance of the company’s information technology requirements and the effective and efficient operation of the existing applications and development of new technical solutions.  The successful candidate must be experienced in:

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage information technology and computer systems running regular checks on network and data security and conducting regular system audits
  • Identifying and acting on opportunities to improve and update software and systems
  • Developing and implementing IT policy and best practice guidelines for the organization
  • Designing training programs and workshops for staff
  • Running and sharing regular operation system reports
  • Overseeing and determining timeframes for major IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations and outages
  • Managing and reporting on allocation of IT budget
  • Providing direction, coaching and training for IT team members, communicating expectations and appraising performance
  • Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT, phone systems and electronic data operations
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
  • Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational effectiveness
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
  • Analyze business needs presented by users and recommend technical solutions with completion timelines
  • Produce detailed timelines and implement effective project control for new software releases
  • Preserve assets by implementing disaster recovery, backup procedures, information security and control structures
  • Recommend information technology strategies, policies and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes, identifying problems and anticipating organizational requirements
  • Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements and preparing annual budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective action
  • Install hardware and peripheral components
  • Administer email, anti-virus and fire wall systems
  • Participate in all hardware and software evaluations and manage vendor contracts

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years experience within information technology
  • Proven working experience as an IT manager or relevant experience
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
  • Expertise in data center management and data governance
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
